Fee Policy

Publishing Fees

European Publishing is an Open Access publisher. Open Access is a publishing model that provides immediate, subscription-free access to the full text of published articles, subject to an Article Processing Charge (APC). APCs are levied to cover the cost of providing our quality publishing services.

At the time of submission, for complete transparency regarding the allocation and acceptance of APCs, authors are mandated to accept the clearly written APCs or state that they have a waiver. Upon acceptance, an invoice is issued. APCs are payable within 30 days of the invoice date, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

All manuscripts from Low-Income Countries are automatically granted a waiver, while manuscripts from low- and middle-income countries are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Please note that APCs are subject to periodic revision and that these charges are exclusive of sales tax that can apply.

Other sources of funding that reduce dependence on APC

To reduce complete dependency on Article Processing Charges (APCs), European Publishing has secured additional sources of funding. These funds come from institutional grants, donations from groups that support open access programs, funding for collaborative research, and subsidies from government organizations that support scholarly research. By diversifying our funding sources, we aim to ensure financial sustainability while continuing to provide open access opportunities for researchers.

The development of the journals has been partially funded through the “Smart Specialisation Strategy of Crete (S3),” an innovation policy concept to support regional prioritization in innovative sectors, fields, or technologies. The Smart Specialization Strategy (S3) aims to help regions identify their unique strengths and competitive advantages, encouraging them to focus on specialized areas where they have the most potential for growth and excellence. By aligning research and innovation efforts with these strategic areas, the S3 concept promotes sustainable development, economic diversification, and job creation across the European Union. Through targeted investments and synergies between businesses, academia, and local authorities, the S3 framework plays a crucial role in boosting the overall competitiveness and resilience of EU regions in the global market.
