As a member of the following organizations, we uphold the highest standards of quality and best ethical practices in order to ensure the integrity of academic publishing.

The association provides a forum in which to share information and knowledge, and engage in open discussion on the challenges and opportunities facing publishing. Our team members regularily participate in training workshops and seminars to equip them with the latest knowledge and initiatives that promote a healthy and sustainable scholarly publishing environment.

The Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) serves as a central resource and advocate for ethical scholarly publishing. They provide educational materials and guidance to all stakeholders. COPE establishes best practices through their "Core Practices" framework and offers advice on handling research misconduct. Our production managers frequently rwach out to COPE whenever a query may arise, to ensure that all our publications adhere to COPE guidelines and best practices.

Two of our journals are COPE members

The Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association (OASPA) is a diverse community of organisations engaged in open scholarship with a mission to encourage and enable open access as the predominant model of communication for scholarly outputs.

Crossref makes research objects easy to find, cite, link, assess, and reuse. All our published articles are attreibuted a Digital Object Identifier (DOI). A DOI acts as a unique and enduring fingerprint for online publications. This reliability makes DOIs valuable for researchers, as they can easily find and cite the exact articles and documents they need.

We also actively participate in reference linking, where we include Crossref DOIs (displayed as URLs) in the reference lists of our published articles. This enables researchers to follow a link from a reference list to the current landing page for that referenced citation. And because it’s a DOI rather than just a link, it will remain persistent

An ORCID ID is a unique identifier for researchers and scholars. ORCID IDs help distinguish researchers with similar names and ensure they get proper credit for their work.

At European Publishing we strongly encourage the submission of ORCID IDs from authors, reviewers and editors, which are then made publicly available.

European Publishing investigates all cases of publication misconduct, and as a member of CrossCheck’s plagiarism detection initiative, it uses plagiarism detection software (Ithenticate) for all manuscripts that it publishes.

Ithenticate is used during the initial quality assessment as also at the acceptance stage. Further details on how we handle plagiarism, can be found here

All articles published by European Publishing are made freely and permanently accessible online immediately upon publication. To ensure digital preservation for the future, our electronic publications are archived with Portico. Portico is a third-party preservation service supported by both libraries and publishers to ensure that scholarly content published in electronic form will remain accessible for the long term. The Portico digital preservation service is part of ITHAKA, a not-for-profit organization helping the academic community use digital technologies to preserve the scholarly record and to advance research and teaching in sustainable ways.

European Publishing utilizes the online submission system, Editorial System to handle manuscript submission, for the review and editorial decision-making processes.  Both the pre- and post-production process functionalities of the system are used to ensure a smooth submission-review-publication process. Our online submission and publication handling system helps:

  1. Authors with fast and easy manuscript submission

  2. Reviewers with an easy login, scoring and peer review process

  3. Editors with managing the manuscript workflow and editorial activites, including pre and post production checks.

In 2024, we partnered with Oxygen, a trusted 3rd party payment provider for the automation of invoicing and payment processes. This collaboration provides authors and their funders a simple and administratively easy way of handling APC and requesting appropriate invoicing details. More information on this cooperation is available here

All our published articles are accompanied by an Altmetric badge. Altmetric tracks a range of sources to capture and collate scholarly activity, helping researchers, funders and publishers monitor and report on how their published content is being used and shared around the world.
